12 members of the Iowa Lakes Sports Shooting Team traveled to the Shelby County Trap and Skeet club for a face-to-face meet with 17 Iowa Western shooters. In the Team competition, Iowa Western shot a 472x500 which was 17 targets better than Iowa Lakes 455x500. The 5 members of the Lakers team were: Alex Smith 93, Ethan Collins 93, Kolby Kendall 91, Brennan Duhn 89, and Tiegan Huntley 89.
In the Men's individual competition, 2 shooters from Iowa Western tied Ethan Collins and Alex Smith for the 3rd place trophy with 93x100. In the 1st shoot-off round all 4 shooters broke 24x25 from the 16 yard line. They all moved back to the 22 yard line for the 2nd round where Alex Smith shot a perfect 25x25 to win the 3rd place award.
In the women's competition, Tiegan Huntley took 2nd place with 89x100 and RaeAnn Krull took 3rd place with 87x100.
The following Lakers shot perfect 25x25 in the 16 yard event: Ethan Collins, Kolby Kendall, RaeAnn Krull, and Alex Smith.
The Lakers next shoot will be against Indian Hills at 11:00 am on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019, at the Stockdale Gun Club near Ackley, IA.
