At the Stockdale Gun Club near Ackley, IA on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019 in light rain and gusty winds the Iowa Lakes Sport Shooting team defeated Indian Hills by a score of 480x500 to 474x500. This improves our 2019 ICCAC league record to 2-1. The winning team members were: Ethan Collins 98, Alexander Smith 96, Thomas Crocoll 96, Austin Bergstrom 95, and Kolby Kendall 95.
In the individual men's competition Ethan Collins took the gold medal with a lone 98x100. Alexander Smith and Thomas Crocoll both shot 96x100 to tie with 3 shooters from Indian Hills. In a one round shoot-off 2 of the Indian Hills shooters took the silver and bronze medals with 24x25.
In the women's individual competition Tiegan Huntley and Ariana Umscheid tied for the bronze medal with 86x100. In a one round shoot-off Ariana shot a perfect 25x25 to win the medal.
In addition to Umscheid's 25x25, her first one, the following Lakers had perfect rounds: Austin Bergstrom 50x50, Ethan Collins 50x50, Thomas Crocoll 25x25, Brennan Duhn two 25x25s, Nicholas Egeland 25x25, and Alexander Smith 25x25.
" Our team score of 480x500 is the best score we have ever shot and the weather conditions were very poor. We look forward to shooting even better this season," commented Coach Kalsow.
The Lakers return to action next Saturday, October 12th in Rock Valley, IA vs. NWCC from Sheldon.
