Iowa Lakes Sports Shooting Team Receives Grant from NRA Foundation

The Iowa Lakes Sport Shooting Team has received 28 cases of Winchester Super Target ammunition from the NRA Foundation. This generous donation will help to allow for more practice at Sportsman's Park and support the team as they compete in the ICCAC and other collegiate events.

Head Coach Rick Kalsow was incredibly grateful for the donation, "I would like to thank the NRA Foundation for the support. It means a lot for our student athletes."

Sophomore student athlete Levin Aanonson was also thankful, "I love the soot balls that these Winchester Super Targets make."

The Friends of the NRA raises funds through banquets to support the shooting sports for future generations.  At Iowa Lakes Community College, it helps Coach Kalsow run a first rate sports shooting program and properly train student athletes.

The Lakers are currently 2-3 in ICCAC shoots this season. Due to COVID-19, all sports shooting events are being held virtual this year, where both teams shoot at their home facility and the two scores are compared for the final result. The Lakers face Northwest Iowa on October 10th before wrapping up the Fall season against Ellsworth on October 17th.
