Iowa Lakes Sport Shooting opened up the 2021 conference season with a five-bird win over Southwestern. The Lakers edged the Spartans 468 to 463. Led by Carter Leiding, the freshman from Fairmont, Minn. had an outstanding day hitting 99 of 100 targets. He started 85 for 85 before missing on his 86th target. His score of 99 edged last season's best score by a Laker of 98, which Kolby Kendall achieved twice. It was the top male score in Week 2.

The Lakers host Northeast Iowa CC Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the Palo Alto Gun Club at Sportsman's Park just north of Cylinder. The action starts at 11:00 am.
