The Iowa Lakes Sports Shooting Team traveled to Rock Valley, IA on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2022 for an ICCAC trap league shoot with NCC. When the smoke cleared Iowa Lakes edged out NCC 465 to 461. The top 5 shooters for the Lakers included: Chase Young 94, Maddy Derochie 94, Aaron Olson 93, Keegan Oettinger 92, and Kendall Umscheid 92. Cameron Fick also shot 92 but by reverse run was 6th place.
The win moves the Lakers ICCAC Western Division League record to 1 win and 1 loss.
In the individual men's competition Chase Young's 94 with a reverse run of 39 gave him the gold medal. The Laker Ladies took all 3 women's medals. Maddy Derochie gold with 94, Kendall Umscheid silver with 92, and Haily Green 89.
The Sports Shooting Team is on the road again next Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022 vs Ellsworth at the Stockdale Gun Club in Ackley, IA starting at 10:00 am.
Coach Kalsow said " The Laker Ladies stepped up again this week with 2 of our top 5 scores." Our roster has 9 women and 11 men this fall.
