Iowa Lakes defeats Ellsworth 476 to 444

The Lakers traveled to Ackley, IA on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022 for an ICCAC Trap Shoot vs Ellsworth. The Lakers improved their record to 2 wins and 1 loss in the Western Division of the ICCAC Conference. The Lakers' 476x500 was 11 targets better than last Saturday vs NCC. The Iowa Lakes top 5 team was comprised of Wyatt Schwenker 96, Logan Studer 95, Hunter Thilges 95, Chase Young 95, and Mackenzie Schnetzer 95.

In the individual men's competition Wyatt Schwenker's 96 with a reverse  run of 15 took the gold medal.  Tyler Resor from Ellsworth also had a 96, but settled for the silver since he missed the last target. Logan Studer's 95 with a reverse run of 38 took the bronze medal over Hunter Thilges with a reverse run of 31 and Chase Young with a reverse run of 8.

In the individual women's competition the Lakers made a sweep of all 3 places. Mackenzie Schnetzer took the gold medal with 95, Kendall Umscheid took the silver medal with 92, and Haily Green took the bronze medal with 90. 

The Lakers have next weekend off and then on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022 host Iowa Central at Palo County Gun Club just north of Cylinder. The action starts at 11:00 am.

Coach Kalsow said " I am really pleased with the way the freshmen shot. Four of the top Laker 5 scores were shot by freshmen and all 3 women's medals were won by freshmen.
