I chose Iowa Lakes because I felt that it was the right environment for me and everyone on campus was nice, helpful and extremely friendly. Also the class sizes were just the right size, which was a good fit for me because the professors helped in preparing me for a 4-year University. What I like most about Iowa Lakes, is that everyone knows everyone and everyone here was always willing to help me out when I needed it. Overall, I really enjoyed my academic and athletic experience at Iowa Lakes even though I had few different coaches during my two years here."

Smith chose Augusta University because she really liked the community and the institution. Smith said "I chose Augusta because I think it is going to be a great transition for me from Iowa Lakes. Also I feel that Augusta's Women's Basketball program will be a good fit for me. I look forward to continuing my athletic career there and also earning my education at Augusta."

Coach Jennings had this to say about Smith, "I am excited that Lauryn has decided to join the Augusta University family. She is a talented student-athlete that will excel on the court and in the classroom. She is a point guard with a high basketball IQ and combining that with her athleticism and ability to get to the basket, Lauryn will give Jaguar fans something to cheer about."
