Perez was named the ICCAC (Iowa Community College Athletic Conference) player of the week for the Lakers. The Lakers have won four out of their last five games. Perez averaged 12 points and seven assists in the Lakers two wins last week over Central CC and Southwestern. Perez is averaging 9 points and 6.5 assists per game in conference play.
"I am so happy for Mari; she is very deserving of this honor. Mari is our team's energizer bunny. She makes so much happen for this team. She is our floor general and does a good job of getting our team in an offense and pushing the tempo. I am excited to continue to see her growth as a player," commented Head Coach Ashley Martin
The Lakers are currently 6-10 on the season and 1-1 in conference play. The Lakers are back in action on Saturday, January 20th at 1:00pm when they host Kirkwood.
