The Lakers win with a great team effort over Southwestern 75-47. The Lakers had 4 players in double digits tonight. The Lakers were led by Mia Wassink with 20 points, Lemia Ntor-Ue with 16 points, Marissa Ruiz with 14 points, and Marisela Perez with 10 points.
"Incredible day for our team. So proud of this team and their effort. We were up one at half and our kids came out motivated in the 2nd half. They were locked in on the defensive end. To hold a good Southwestern team to 15 points in the 2nd half is an improvement. I thought we shared the ball and got the ball moving on the offensive end. It has been so fun to coach this team and to see their continuous improvement. We are enjoying every second of it," commented Head Coach Ashley Martin.
The Lakers are 9-14 on the season and 3-5 in conference play. The Lakers return to action on Monday, February 12th when they travel to Winnebago, Ne to take on Little Priest Tribal College at 5:30pm. The Lakers return home on Wednesday, February 14th when they host DMACC at 5:30pm.
