Iowa Lakes Community College Head Women's Basketball Coach Ashley Martin announced the signing of Alisa Anderson, a 5'9" Guard from Ralston, Ne.
"We are very excited to welcome Alisa and her family to our Laker basketball program. Alisa is a great kid and works extremely hard. She will be a wonderful addition to our program. Alisa can really shoot it and has a very high basketball IQ. I love her work ethic and her love for the game," said Coach Martin.
Alisa will graduate in May from Ralston High School in Nebraska. Throughout Alisa's high school career, Alisa was named All Omaha Area Honorable Mention and Nebraska All State Honorable Mention. Alisa also received academic honors, earning Academic All State, Academic All RCC Conference and 4.04 GPA Distinction Honor Roll. During Alisa's basketball career at Ralston High School, she averaged 11.9 points per game, shot 42 percent from behind the arc; making 35-82 field goal attempts.
Alisa's high school coach had this to say about her, "Alisa is what some people would call a gym rat. She is always wanting to get better and she understands to get better you have to put in the extra time. She is a pure shooter that can knock down a big time shot when your team needs it the most. Any time we needed a basket, we would draw up her number. She will be greatly missed at Ralston High School.
Alisa had this to say about her opportunity to be a part of the Laker Community, "I really liked the instant connection with Coach Martin. She kept in contact with not only myself but also my parents every other week. While we were on campus, everyone was extremely friendly which gave the campus a feeling of home to me. All of the girls on the team were encouraging and very welcoming. I also feel that Iowa Lakes will help me improve academically, athletically, and most importantly as an overall person."
