Laker Women's Basketball Signs Breanna Wendland

Iowa Lakes Community College Head Women's Basketball Coach Ashley Martin announced the signing of  Breanna Wendland, a 5'8", guard from Richfield, MN.

"We want to welcome Breanna and her family to our Iowa Lakes women's basketball family. Bree is a great addition to our women's basketball family. She is an athletic guard that can get to the rim or hit the pull-up jumper. She can also handle the ball and plays her tail off. I am very excited to see Bree continue to improve and grow her game," said Coach Martin.

Bree will graduate from Richfield High School in June. Wendland averaged 19.4 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. She was named honorable mention All-Conference twice throughout her high school career and was named MVP of her high team 3 times. Bree was named the Metro West Conference Player of the year her senior season.

Breanna's High School Coach Pam Quiram had this to say when asked about Breanna, "Breanna is a worker. She works hard each practice and spends time on her own in the gym working on her basketball skills. She has been a great team leader and is so fun to have around. We will miss her and we wish her the best of luck at Iowa Lakes."

When asked about why Bree chose Iowa Lakes Community College, Bree had this to say, "I chose Iowa Lakes for two main reasons. First off, right now I am unsure if I want to pursue a career in criminal justice or business, and Iowa Lakes gives me the opportunity to take classes in both career fields to figure out which is best for me. Secondly, I like the way Coach Martin is leading the basketball team and I feel that I will succeed under her and her coaching staff."
