Laker Women’s Basketball signs Shareece Smith

Iowa Lakes Community College Head Women's Basketball Coach Ashley Martin announced the signing of Shareece Smith, a 5'5" guard from Fort Dodge, IA.

"We are thrilled to welcome Shareece and her family to our Iowa Lakes women's basketball family. Shareece will give us added depth in the back court. She is very athletic and can score in many different ways." said Coach Martin.

Shareece will graduate from Fort Dodge High School in May. Throughout the course of Shareece's high school career, Shareece became a 3-year varsity starter for the basketball team while averaging 16 points per game and 5.8 rebounds per game her senior year. Shareece was a 4 year varsity letter winner while being named to the All-Regional Team, CIML All-Conference 2nd Team twice and earning Honorable-Mention.

"Shareece was an indispensable member of our team. She has exemplary work ethic and high competitive spirit. I am very excited to see her continue to compete at the college level and we wish her all the best," commented Shareece's High School Coach, Julius Michalik.

"I liked the campus size because it will allow me to have more one-on-one time with the professors," said Shareece Smith. "I also liked the basketball program. Iowa Lakes is somewhere that I can see myself becoming very successful academically and athletically."
