The Lakers win on the road over Minnesota West 71-61.
The Lakers were led by freshman Breanna Wendland of Minneapolis, MN with 23 points. Freshman Samantha Hagedorn of Bancroft, IA tallied 17 points, freshman Shareece Smith of Fort Dodge, IA added 3 points, and freshman Safiyer Coleman of Denver, CO added 11 points.
"I thought our effort on the defensive end in the 2nd half was really good. We are a very young team and are learning how hard you have to play every possession. We are working on playing through mistakes and continue to grow. This coming week will present a lot of good challenges for the team. We will play three games in 6 days and all very good teams. I look for us to continue to improve and embrace these opportunities," commented Head Coach Ashley Martin.
The Lakers are 7-1 on the season and 0-0 in conference play. The Lakers return home on Monday, November 26th when they host Dakota Wesleyan JV at 5:30pm.
