Lakers hang on to defeat Dakota Wesleyan JV

The Lakers were able to withstand a fourth quarter surge to earn the win over Dakota Wesleyan JV. The Lakers were up 33-30 at the half. At the end of the third quarter the Lakers were up 55-42. The fourth quarter was high scoring for both teams resulting in a 82-77 win for the Lakers.

The Lakers were led by Samantha Hagedorn of Bancroft, IA with 21 points. Breanna Wendland of Minneapolis, Mn added 19 points, Shareece Smith of Fort Dodge, Ia recorded a double double with 14 points and dishing out 11 assists. Safiyer Coleman of Denver, Co added 12 points.

 "Incredible effort by the team tonight. I thought we started to show tonight the team we can be. I thought we were very dialed in on the defensive end and did a lot of good things. We must continue to finish close games and not allow teams back in the game. Overall really proud of the team and continue to see growth,"commented Head Coach Ashley Martin.

The Lakers are 8-1 on the season and 0-0 in conference play. The Lakers are back in action this Friday and Saturday night. November 30th the Lakers take on St. Kate's JV at 7:00pm. Saturday, December 1st the Lakers take on St. Thomas JV at 11:00am.
