The Lakers win their conference opener at Little Priest Tribal College 80-62. The Lakers had a very balanced scoring attack tonight with 4 in double figures. Shaeece Smith of Fort Dodge, Ia led the Lakers with 24 points, Samantha Hagedorn of Bancroft, Ia added 15 points, Breanna Wendland of Minneapolis, MN and Shanice Vaughn of Minneapolis, Mn added 12 points apiece,
"Good team win for the Lakers. I thought our kids fought and competed for 40 minutes. I thought we shared the ball on the offensive and really got the ball moving. We must continue to improve on the defensive end," commented Head Coach Ashley Martin.
The Lakers are 10-2 on the season and 1-0 in conference play. The Lakers have two remaining games to wrap up 1st semester play. The Lakers host Ellsworth this Saturday, December 8th at 1:00pm. They finish out the semester on Wednesday, December 12th as they host Marshalltown at 5:30pm.
