Rachel Breck to Play for the Lakers

Iowa Lakes Community College announced the signing of Rachel Breck from Waseca, MN. Breck has signed to play both volleyball and basketball for Iowa Lakes.

Breck was excited about the opportunity to continue to play both volleyball and basketball in college.

"I chose Iowa Lakes for a variety of reasons. When I first visited the campus it had a very small town feeling like home. Iowa Lakes has what I am looking for to further my education after high school and many more opportunities as well. I am able to play both volleyball and basketball which I am very excited to do," commented Breck.

Head Volleyball Mike Turnbull is excited about Breck joining the team as middle hitter. "We are very excited to welcome Rachel to the Laker Volleyball program. She is a quality person and student-athlete. She brings passion and high energy to the game. Exactly what we are seeking in our incoming players," commented Coach Turnbull.

For volleyball Breck earned honorable mention her junior season and all-region honors her senior season.

Breck is set to complete her senior season for the Waseca basketball team. As a sophomore Breck earned honorable mention honors and as junior as named to the all-conference team. During junior year she averaged 7.8 points per game and 6 rebounds.

"Rachel will give us some much needed physical presence in the post. I've seen improvements to Rachel's game that come through her hard work and dedication. I know that strong work ethic will continue when she gets to campus and she will continue to improve as a Laker," commented Head Women's Basketball Coach Ashley Martin.

Breck has already earned many academic honors as well. She is an Excel Award Winner, member of Minnesota Honor Society, and Academic Letter Winner.
