Wendland Earns Player of the Week Honors

Breanna Wendland a sophomore from Richfield, MN was named the ICCAC (Iowa Community College Athletic Conference) player of the week for the Lakers.

Iowa Lakes went 2-1 with wins over Northwestern JV and Grand View JV. The Lakers were led by guard Breanna Wendland. The sophomore averaged 20.6 points per game in the three contests including a 32-point outbreak against Northwestern. She was also prevalent in the peripheral stat categories. She grabbed 22 rebounds (7.3 per game) and 10 assists (3.3 per game).

"This is a tremendous honor for Bre and our team. Bre continues to improve everyday. Her defense, rebounding, and energy has really helped our team this season. She has made everyone around her better. I look forward to seeing her improve as the season progresses," commented Head Coach Ashley Martin.

The Lakers are currently 9-4 on the season and 1-1 in conference play. The Lakers return to action on Wednesday, December 11th  when they travel to Marshalltown, IA to take on Marshalltown.
