The Lakers top 4th seeded Southwestern 81-71. The Lakers had very balanced scoring tonight as they had five with double figures. The Lakers were led by Shareece Smith with 23 points. Breanna Wendland added 21 points, Safiyer Coleman added 14 points, Destiny Broussard added 12 points, and Tejah Hayden finished with 11 points.

"So happy for our team. Our kids came out ready to go. I thought we guarded really well and were locked in on the defensive end. This is a huge accomplishment for our sophomore class and our program. We are looking forward to another opportunity," commented Head Coach Ashley Martin.

The Lakers move to 19-10 overall and 9-7 in conference play. The Lakers move on to play in the semi-finals on Saturday, March 7th and will take on number one seeded NIACC at 1:00pm in Mason City.
