Iowa Lakes Community College Head Women's Basketball Coach, Ashley Martin has announced Ashley Pena to the 2020-21 recruiting class. Ashley played for Joseph W. Nixon High School in Laredo, TX.
Pena averaged 11.5 points per game and 8.0 rebounds per game. She was named 1st Team All-District and 1st Team All-City her senior season. She was also a member of National Honor Society. She was an Estrella Del Deporte Recipient and a Triple A Award Honoree for athlete, attendance, and academics.
"I chose Iowa Lakes CC for multiple reasons. However, what directly drove me was the comfort I instantly gained by speaking to Coach Martin. In addition, the offer I received both athletically and academically was a huge eye opener. Beyond excited for what's in store for my teammates and I. Go Lakers,!" commented Pena.
"Ashley is a great addition to our program. Ashley can score the basketball and has a high basketball IQ. She understands the team concept and will be a great leader in our program," commented Head Women's Basketball Coach Ashley Martin.
