Lakers Go 1-1 at Emerson Classic

The Iowa Lakes women's basketball team split this weekend at the Emerson Classic to move to 4-3 on the season.

The Lakers took on Central Community College in the first game. The Lakers won 67-50. The Lakers were led by Rachel Breck who shot 8-9 from the floor and 1-1 from the free throw line to finish with 17 points.  Jasmine Jones added 14 points.

In the 2nd game of the classic the Lakers took on North Platte Community College. The Lakers would drop the game 59-70. The Lakers were led by Jaeda Whitner with 21 points and Rachel Breck added 14 points.

Head Coach Ashley Martin had this to say about the weekend, "I saw a lot of improvement this weekend. We are learning how to put together four good quarters and I thought we grew in that this weekend. We still have lapses but will continue to improve"

The Lakers are 4-3 on the season. The Lakers return to action this Tuesday, November 23rd when they host Minnesota West Community College at 5:30pm. The Lakers travel to Columbus, NE this weekend to compete in a Thanksgiving classic at Central Community College. They will play North Central Community College Saturday, November 27th at 5:00pm and Central Community College on Sunday, November 28th at 3:00pm.
