The Iowa Lakes Women's Basketball team topped DMACC 81-61 in ICCAC action Saturday afternoon. The Lakers were led by Brielle Bartlet with 19 points. The Lakers had very balanced scoring with 5 players in double figures. Ihari Oromo added 17 points, Rachel Puok added 14 points and both Jasmine Jones and Rachel Breck added 10 points a piece.
DMACC was led by Magan Christpherson with 16 points.
"Proud of the team. I thought we fought through some adversity in the first half and just kept fighting. We are really focused on playing through adversity right now. Has been a big emphasis for us. Happy to see us continue to improve at the free throw line," commented Coach Martin.
The Lakers are 15-8 on the season and 9-4 in conference play. The Lakers are back in action on Wednesday, February 2nd as they travel to Cedar Rapids, IA to take on #2 Kirkwood Community College at 5:30pm. The Lakers return to play at home on Tuesday, February 8th vs Northeast at 5:30pm.
