Lakers Go 2-0 at Emerson Classic

The Lakers went 2-0 at the Emerson Classic in Marshalltown, IA. The Lakers defeated Lewis & Clark CC in the first game 65-52. The Lakers had a very balanced scoring attack with four players in double digits. The Lakers were led by Emma Kanz with 17 points. Jasmine Jones added a double double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Anisah Wolf added 12 points and Brielle Bartelt added 11 points.

In the 2nd game of the weekend the Lakers defeated William Penn JV 70-53. The Lakers again had a balanced scoring attack with four players in double digits. The Lakers were led by Emma Kanz with 15 points. Brielle Bartelt added 14 points, Anisah Wolf added 13 points, and Makayla Holton added 10 points.

"We saw a lot of growth out of the team this weekend. I thought we put together two good days. We are working on our consistency right now and how hard we have to play everyday," commented Coach Martin.

The Lakers are 3-3 on the season. Next up, the Lakers travel to Worthington, MN to take on Minnesota West on Tuesday, November 22 at 6:30pm. The Lakers return to play at home when they host a Thanksgiving Classic. The Lakers will take on Southeast CC on Saturday, November 26th at 5:00pm. On Sunday, November 27th the Lakers will host Central CC out of Columbus, NE at 3:00pm.
