Lakers Finish 1st at Region XI Fall Preview
The Lakers brought home their second 1st Place finish of the fall season by posting a team score of 346 which was good enough for a 26 shot win over Southwestern Community College at Otter Creek Golf Club in Ankeny, Iowa. The Lakers were led by sophomore Annika DuMoulin who finished with a second place finish posting a +10 81.
Coach Weber had this to say about his team - "Annika is very comfortable with Otter Creek, having played it competively now five or six times, and it shows with her confidence here and it will be a huge asset from a leadership standpoint for the rest of team. I was very please to see how the other girls responded to the course and the cold and I have very big plans for them next spring when we play the Region Tournament here in April."
Closely behind Annika was freshman Alexia Kemper who finished in a T-3rd with an 85 (+14) and Abby Stender with an 89 (+18) which was good for a 7th place finish. Erin Baum finished with a 9th place finish with a 91 (+20) and Molly Diekmann with a 94 (+23).
The Lakers will look to close out their fall season when they travel down to St. Louis, Missouri for the Crossroads of America Women's Invite on October 14th and 15th.
