Lakers Fall to 12th after Day 2

The Iowa Lakes women's golf team started the second round in 10th place out of 19 teams at the NJCAA National Championship in Daytona Beach, Florida. After round two was all said and done, the Lakers find themselves two spots further down the leaderboard after posting a 385 at LPGA International.

"This is one of, if not the, toughest course that we have played all year. Unfortunately, today it really showed. I think it was a weird mix of the wrong mental approach, a little wind, and a difficult golf course. Hopefully tomorrow we can regroup and make our way back up the leaderboard and find a top ten finish," said Coach Weber.

Erin Baum led the way for the Lakers with a 93. Molly Diekmann and Alexia Kemper both posted a 97, Annika DuMoulin a 98, and Abby Stender a 100.

"There are always positives that you can take away from any round, as long as the girls focus on those, they will be just fine going into round three. I think they are still in good spirits and hopefully we can post a good score to cap off the season."

The Lakers will begin the third and final round at 8:20 ET.
