The Lakers were successful on their trip to Fort Dodge as they defeat #4 Iowa Central. The Lakers were led by Hasan Krigger, Anthony Fisher, and David Hollingsworth III who all won by fall and added bonus points that would enviably propel the Lakers to a 29-19 victory over the Tritons. Also picking up wins for the Lakers were McCoy Tekautz, Isaiah Cox, and Anthony Maia. Head coach Cody Alesch is pleased with the way his team fought, and looks forward to building the teams early success, he had this to say after the dual "As a coaching staff you have to be pleased anytime you get a dual win in our conference, especially on the road.  We saw some good things throughout the night and we saw areas we struggled in, some guys that struggled.  The struggles I am not worried about with this group.  They have been a very coachable group and have made progress every time we present them with areas we need to improve on.  Starting the year with a good win over Iowa Central just allows this group to reflect on the progress they have made, shows them the work they put in is truly paying off.  We know we got work to do and hearing the guys talk about that tonight after the win makes me feel even better about where we are at this point."
