Laker Wrestlers Suffer First Loss

The Laker wrestling team suffered their first loss of the year at the hands of #7 Iowa Western. In a tough conference battle of top 10 teams Iowa Western was able to win three one points matches, and an overtime victory to edge the Lakers.Coach Cody Alesch is optimistic about his team moving forward and had this to say about their performance "I'm excited about this group and where we are heading. Iowa Western was able to win some close matches, and that's what you need to do in a close dual like this one, but we're going to get better and learn from this loss."  The Lakers got wins from Anthony Fisher, who is currently ranked #5 at 141, Anthony Maia, who's ranked #4 at 157, Bunmi Smith who wrestled 174 but is ranked #5 at 165, and Isaiah Cox who is currently ranked #1 in the country at 184.
