Wrestlers Fall to #13 NIACC

The #8 Laker wrestlers fell at the hands of #13 NIACC Trojans 13-30. In their final dual of the season the Lakers got wins from #4 Jordin James at 133, #8 David Hollingsworth III at 149 and at 184 from #2 Isaiah Cox. Anthony Maia, who is currently unranked, was able to upset Noah Jackson who is currently ranked 5th in the country. Despite the loss coach Cody Alesch was happy with several wrestler's performances. "Fish (Anthony Fisher) was in deep on the go ahead takedown against the number one kid in the country, Kaz (Anthony Maia) showed a lot of heart in his match, he got the go ahead takedown with short time in the match. We knew those were going to hard fought matches and it's promising to see our guys respond in a positive way in those situations. We need to see that much fight, and heart out of everybody as we move into post season competition." The Lakers start postseason competition at the Regional Tournament February 11th in Fort Dodge.
