Iowa Lakes Wrestling will compete in the NJCAA Central District Tournament this Sunday, February 10th, 2019.

Head Coach Cody Alesch has been pleased with his team's performance in the weeks leading up to post season action, "The past two weeks have really been great preparation.  The team has had a great presence, focus to their own individual preparation and calmness about them.  As a coach you want the team to approach the post season like any other match and not allow the mind to derail you.  I think this is the best two weeks in the room we have had all year so we are excited about that."

Coach Alesch is especially looking forward to see his returners compete this year.  Returning All-American David Hollingsworth III hopes to win a National Title this year.  His path will not be easy, as opponents will be preparing especially for him, but he gives it his all in every match.

Kevin Saravia has finished the regular season strong and could perform very well in the post season.  Anthony Fisher has had a good year and is entering the post season with solid training and focus. Saravia and Fisher both finished last year's National Tournament with a record of 1-2 but look to improve this year.  Returner Tracy Davis will have his first opportunity to compete in the National Tournament this year and has worked hard these past two years to make the most of it.  Marcus Placide is in a similar situation.  He has improved since not qualifying for the tournament last year and is looking to make a run this post season.  Andre Bissainthe has grown tremendously as a wrestler after suffering a season-ending injury last year.  A great team leader, he is poised to have a great end to his year.

The Lakers will hit the mats this Sunday, February 10, 2019 with action beginning at 10am in Mason City, IA at NIACC.
