Freshamn Miles Knuckles has been named wrestler of the week.  Knuckles was active last weekend at the NJCAA Duals in Oklahoma. Knuckles wrestled five times, winning all five matches. The freshman 133-pounder won in multiple facets with two decisions, a major decision and had two pins coming against Blake Leiszler of Cloud County (Kan.) and Devyn Mosteller of Northwest (Wyo.). Iowa Lakes has jumped into the top 20 in the latest NJCAA poll, ranked No. 20 after being unranked all season.

Coach Alesch had this to say about Miles "Miles has been progressing well over the past 1-1/2 months.  You can tell that the confidence is growing as he continues to wrestle better each time out.  Miles puts up points fast so as he continue to strengthen his conditioning really good things are going to happen as we approach the post season," 

The Lakes host second-ranked NIACC tonight, January 14th in Spirit Lake Iowa.
