Lakers Shine at Morton Duals

The men's wrestling took on Ellsworth CC for the second time in less then a month. In their first meeting the Panthers were able to capitalize on bonus points and win the dual, power this time the Laker were able to flip the script and emerge victorious.

Coach Corey Meyer had this to say about the team's performance "Anytime we wrestle another ICCAC team we know were going to face stiff competition and we always look forward to the challenge. We had a great opportunity to wrestle Ellsworth again, it was not only great to flip the team result, as well as some individual results. It really reinforces the progress that we have made and helps us measure how far we've come in a short time. Giovanni Hernandez is a great example of this, in our first dual he struggled to get to his offense, as well as escape from bottom however in the most recent match he controlled a vast majority of the match."

In their second dual of the day the Lakers won 6 of 10 matches to beat host Morton College 33-23. Coach Meyer had this to say about the performance "It obvious to me when the team is ready to attack from the first whistle. In duals like this it is so important for us to have that mentality because it puts us in the driver's seat the entire dual. Coach Butz has several great wrestlers on his team, and it was a great opportunity to see a team we could regularly see so we are appreciative of their hospitality."

The Lakers next coemption is at the NJCAA Duals in Miamai, OK hosted by NEO on January 12th and 13th
