Lakers beat Hawkeye 5-0

This Saturday the women of Iowa Lakes faced off against Hawkeye. The first matchup against Hawkeye favored the Lakers by a score of 7-1. This time around the Lakers won by a score of 5-0. Coach Viedenkamp said that this was the better performance of the two. "As a coach, my number one concern is if we play well or not, regardless of the score. Yes, winning is important, but I am more concerned about the performance. We've been working on keeping the ball and transitioning to attack runs through the middle and final third this past week, and it really showed in the game. The ball never seemed to be on our half. I was very delighted with the team's performance, and it gives us momentum heading into our home game against Iowa Western this coming Wednesday."

Tessa Calabria scored in the 15th minute of the game (Sienna Scully assisted) and the 39th minute (Madeleine Duncan). Adele Jackson (Tessa Calabria, Genesis Espinoza (Madeleine Duncan), and Sienna Scully (Yecenia Sanchez) each had one goal on the game. The Lakers moved to 6-4-1 on the season, with their next game on Wednesday October 12th against Iowa Western at home.
