The Lady Lakers are looking forward to a fresh start in the 2018 fall season after recording a 6-8-2 season in 2017. They are only returning two sophomores from last season, Joanna Medina and Adelle Brown. "Adelle was leading the nation in saves last year, it is great to have her presence return. She is a leader and will be our captain. Joanna has progressed a lot this off season. Off the ball she has become a much better player, she will play a crucial role in midfield for us this season," said head coach Blake Viedenkamp.
"There are 16 fresh faces on the team, so of course I am excited," said Coach Blake. "This team is much different than the team last year. Our style is more of a passing and moving style in which we play through midfield. We have players that can pass and move. So it's important that we keep the ball on the ground and just play to our strengths."
The Lakers will square off against several ranked opponents this year and the Lakers will open up their season at home on the 22nd of August against the #14 team in the nation, Cloud County. Kickoff is at 4PM. Go Lakers!
