Iowa Lakes Wins at Northeast Community College

The Lakers traveled to Norfolk, NE on Tuesday to take on the Hawks out of Northeast Community College. "The game could've gone either way," said Coach Viedenkamp. The girls battled back after conceding a penalty in the first half by scoring two goals before half time. The game went into half with a score of 2-1 favoring the Lakers, and it ended that way. The Lakers goals were scored by sophomore, Joanna Medina, and freshman, Crystal Molineaux.

"This was our best result of the season. We traveled. The game was on turf. Our legs were heavy. Yet, we got the result. It really was a big win for us. Especially when Northeast were predicted to finish above us. Overall, I am really happy with the result today," said Coach Viedenkamp about the win.

The Lakers move to 4-4 on the year, and 2-1 in the conference. The Lakers next match will be at home against Scott on September 22 with a 2 PM kick off.
