Four Lakers Earn All-Region Honors

Four Lakers earned a spot on the All-Region XI team.

Defender Crystal Molineaux was selected to the All-Region First Team. "She was instrumental for us in the back line. She could pick passes out of the back with ease and was huge in the big games for us," said Viedenkamp. Crystal was also voted the 6th best player in the conference.

Ciara Joyce, a goal scoring threat from midfield, earned a spot on the All-Region Second Team. "I have never coached a female player who can hit a ball like Ciara. She was great at creating and scoring chances from midfield," Viedenkamp said about Joyce. Ciara finished the season with 13 goals and 3 assists.

Danielle Grimmer and Ashley Commens both earned Honorable Mention for their display in the backline this year. "Danielle and Ash partnered extremely well in the back. Danielle stepped right up for us this year as a Freshman. She learned her role quickly and never really need much coaching after the preseason. Ash was an absolute warrior for us this year. You couldn't tell, but she was fighting through injury game in and game out and consistently performed," said Viedenkamp.

Viedenkamp added, "These players were very deserving of the awards given to them. The entire team worked hard all year and performed. Excited to see what offers some of these exceptional sophomores will receive. We have some big shoes to fill next year!"
