The Lakers opened the first week of conference play 1-1. The women beat Hawkeye Community College by a score of 2-1 in tough windy conditions on Friday April 2nd. Alexis Vasquez scored both goals and was assisted by Melissa Fajardo and Sofia Hernandez-Riano. "I thought the team battled hard in the conditions. Alexis is a real difference maker for us," Coach Viedenkamp said.

After the Lakers beat Hawkeye they then traveled to Southeastern and played 48 hours later on Easter Sunday. Sofia Hernandez scored with penalty. "It is tough to recover, travel across state, and play two games all in under 48 hours," said Coach Viedenkamp. He added, "The girls fought hard though, anyone could tell they were exhausted but they kept pushing. I am really proud of them for that. The situation is what it is. We have to rest, recover, and bounce back against NIACC on Wednesday."

The Lakers will host the Trojans from NIACC on Wednesday April 7th. Kickoff will be at 3:00 PM.
