The women's team opened up division one play against Iowa Central on the 15th of April, they lost by a score of 3-1. The Lakers goal came from Deborah Cordeiro in the 2nd half. 

"We really struggled in the midfield today. We couldn't seem to connect a pass," said Viedenkamp. He added, "our second half was much better though. Defensively throughout the game I thought we did ok. They really worked hard. Central has a big difference maker in Julia, and she made the difference today."

The Lakers next game is on the road in Ottumwa, IA against Indian Hills on Monday April 19th. Kickoff is at 3PM.
