The Iowa Lakes Women's soccer team entertained Scott Community College on Saturday on one of the hottest days of this Fall season, with temperatures reaching over 90 degrees. The Lakers controlled the game tempo and made it very difficult for the visiting Scott team to gain positive momentum during both halves of the game. The first goal broke on the 16th minute with a nicely lofted ball over the top through to Bruna Kruschewsky, who executed a spectacular chip shot over the visiting team goalie into the goal. 

The Lakers battled through the second half and ended up finding the net in the 79th minute, with Amy Boyle breaking through the final third of the field and slotting the ball into the bottom corner of the goal. This game was a win worth recognizing as both teams had to endure extreme weather conditions and find a positive result. The Lakers will welcome Northeast on Wednesday next week at home for a 1 PM kickoff.
