Lakers Suffer First Loss to No.7 Northeast

Iowa Lakes' women's soccer team lost their first game of the season on Wednesday to Northeast, ranked no. 7. After conceding three goals very early in the first half, the lady lakers faced a steep uphill battle. Soon after the third goal, the Lakers began to control the game and create better scoring chances. Northeast proved with their defensive and attacking efforts why they had only conceded one loss all season. The Lakers found the net in the second half with a Maria Vilhena goal assisted by Alexis Vasquez. Vasquez dribbled the ball 35-yards down the right side of the field to find Vilhena for the finish. The Lakers hope to bounce back this Saturday at home to Marshalltown.
