Lakers Lose at Hills

On Saturday, the women's soccer team from Iowa Lakes embarked on a journey to Ottumwa, where they squared off against Indian Hills. Their performance began on a high note as they established control over possession and crafted numerous scoring opportunities. The Lakers finally broke the deadlock in the 24th minute when Louise Godden unleashed a powerful, angled shot, forcing the goalkeeper into a save, which Isabella Hernandez Diaz capitalized on to score.

However, Indian Hills demonstrated their unwavering determination by netting three goals in a mere five minutes. The Lakers came excruciatingly close to mounting a comeback, hitting the post twice in the latter part of the first half and the crossbar in the second.

As the clock wound down, Indian Hills secured their victory with a quick touch inside the six-yard box from their striker, Maika Nchana. With this result, the Lakers' season record now stands at 3 wins, 1 draw, and 2 losses. They are set to face Southeastern CC at their home ground next Saturday at 1 pm.
