Lakers Cruise to Victory Against Southeastern

On Saturday, the Iowa Lakes women's soccer team dominated Southeastern CC with an impressive 8-0 victory. Right from the outset, the Lakers took command of the game, effortlessly maneuvering past the Southeastern defense to generate numerous scoring opportunities.

In the opening half, Iowa Lakes Community College netted four goals, with three courtesy of striker Maria Vilhena and one from striker Cameran Renneke. Cameron Renneke continued her scoring spree, finding the net just three minutes into the second half, marking her sixth goal of the season. Katharina Taschinski joined the scoring action with her first goal of the season, thanks to a fantastic run by Renneke.

Jasmine Sawyer celebrated her debut goal, contributing to the team's seventh goal with a well-placed pass from Vilhena. Vilhena sealed the deal with her fourth goal of the day in the 83rd minute, securing the eighth and final goal.

Throughout the day, the Lakers showcased exceptional teamwork, seamlessly moving the ball through the lines and consistently creating scoring opportunities. With this win, the Lakers now hold a commendable record of 4-2-1 and have earned a spot in the top 17 national rankings.
