Laker Women Swim & Dive Fall to SMU, Neves still undefeated

The Laker women took on SMU and Guststavus falling to both but had some great swims in the process. Monique Dias started out with a first place finish beating her competition by nearly 20 seconds in the 1000 yard freestyle. She would later take second in the 100 fly and was a part of the winning relay with teammates Brenda Neves, Shayna Asuncion, and Gabriela Reis.  Neves racked up two other wins in the 200 free and the 100 backstroke, remaining undefeated on the year. Asuncion was able to pull out a 1st place finish in the 200 IM and was out-touched for a second place finish in the 100 freestyle. Reis took 5th in the 200 IM and battled back to win the 500 freestyle. Emily McMahon took 6th in the 50 free, 8th in the 100 free, and finished her day with a 7th place finish in the 100 breaststroke.  

The team will be back in action in the first home meet of the season against Morningside college next saturday Nov. 4th. meet starts at 2pm.
