MASON CITY, IA - Iowa Lakes Volleyball team ended conference play last night against North Iowa Area Community College. Both Iowa Lakes CC and NIACC went into the game 0-7 in conference play. The game decided which team would make it in to the conference tournament and the Lakers came up short falling in four sets to the Trojans. (19-25, 28-2, 13-25, 20-25). 

The Lakers came out slow in the first set losing 19-25, but didn't back down from from a fight. The next set the Lakers fought to tie the match pushing the set to 28-26. After the second set, NIACC was able to keep the Lakers down winning the final two sets (13-25 and 20-25). 

"NIACC put up a big block that we sturggled with all night and they were able to execute their shots and find holes in our defense," says Coach Porter. 

The Lakers will play their final game of the season on October 28, 2017 in Marshalltown, IA at 1pm.
