Keyeria Tyeskie signs with Iowa Lakes Volleyball

The Lakers have signed another player for the 2018 season. On Wednesday, February 7, 2018, the Iowa Lakes volleyball team welcomed Keyeria Tyeskie to their 2018 roster. Tyeskie is a 5'11" Middle Blocker from Red Oak, Texas.

"We are very fortunate to have such a strong blocker join our program," said Coach Hunter. "Keyeria is a force defensively at the net. With her extremely driven work ethic, natural athleticism, and the passion she brings to the floor, Keyeria will be a great addition to our roster. We are so excited to have her in the blue and gold!"

Keyeria will be a 2018 graduate from Red Oak High School in Red Oak, Texas. She started two seasons on the varsit at ROHS and her team had two top 10 finishes in Texas 5A. In the spring of 2017 Keyeria suffered an ACL injury which kept her from playing for 6 months. She was told she might not make it back for her senior season. With countless hours of therapy and perseverance she was able to make it back before her team finished the season. During the four matches she played, she recorded over 20 blocks.

While attending Iowa Lakes, Keyeria wants to continue to develop her athletic skills and start her education degree in hopes of becoming a volleyball coach and second grade reading teacher. With a smile, Keyeria had this to say about her decision to become a Laker, "My high school experience was great, but I have a feeling college will be greater. Thanks be to God, my parents and the two Coach Porters."
