On Tuesday March 27, 2018, the Iowa Lakes volleyball team welcomed Stephanie Batalla to their 2018 roster. Batalla is a 5'1" defensive specialist from Houston, Texas. Stephanie will be a 2018 graduate from Davis High School in Houston, Texas, where she was a member of their varsity volleyball team.

"We are very fortunate to have such an eager athlete on our roster" said Coach Hunter. "Stephanie is very consistent defensively. With her extremely driven work ethic, willingness to learn, and the desire to continue to develop her craft, Stephanie will be a great addition to our roster. We are so excited to have her this fall!"

While attending Iowa Lakes, Stephanie wants to continue to develop her athletic skills and start her educational career in hopes of becoming an Athletic Trainer. Stephanie had this to say about her decision to become a Laker, "I chose Iowa Lakes because it felt like home! I know that I will be surrounded by very helpful teachers, coaches, and administrators that will help me become successful in my academics and athletic career. I'm extremely excited to be playing volleyball at the next level at Iowa Lakes!"
