Laker Volleyball Competes in Waubonsee Invitational

The Lakers traveled to Sugar Grove, IL this weekend for the Waubonsee Invitational held at Waubonsee Community College. The Lakers faced six teams over the weekend. On Friday August 24th, the Lakers started the tournament off against Oakton Community College winning in four sets and then fell short to Moraine Valley in four sets. Coach Hunter had this to say about the Lakers first day of competition, "I felt like the girls were a little sluggish today, they made a lot of unforced errors."

On Saturday August 25th, the Lakers swept Malcom X College in three but unfortunately lost in three against Macomb Community College. "Today was a little better than Friday but the girls still made some unforced errors which is something that needs to be corrected. The girls play two more matches tomorrow and hopefully they can turn things around," commented Coach Hunter.

On Sunday August 26th, the Lakers lost in three against Illinois Central College and stepped immediately back on the court to face McHenry County College. The Lakers lost in four. "Though we didn't win the last match of the day, losing two sets by only a few points, the team fought hard. I think we are in a great place heading into Wednesday to start off conference play," commented Coach Hunter.

The Lakers travel to Fort Dodge, IA on Wednesday August 29th to start conference play, where they will face Iowa Central Community College starting at 7:00 p.m.
