#1 Eagles Defeat Iowa Lakes 72-52
Cedar Rapids, IA- Freshman Jenna Twedt scored a career-high 29 points to help lead Kirkwood to a 72-52 victory over visiting Iowa Lakes on Wednesday night.
Kirkwood (11-0 / 4-0) led for most of the game, but was never able to distance itself from the Lakers.
The Eagles would lead 33-26 at half but would see their dwindle to three points at 46-43 with 8:50 remaining in the game.
That's when the Eagles' offense kicked into high gear, led by Twedt who would score 18 points in the fourth quarter alone.
Kirkwood used a 15-0 run to blow the game open & take a commanding 61-43 lead with 4:15 remaining in the game.
Sophomore Kaylee Corbin also finished in double figures with 10 points & grabbed a game-high 8 rebounds.
Sophomore Emily Dreckman & freshman Lizzy Puot both finished with 8 points each.
The Eagles return to action on Saturday as they host Marshalltown at 1:00 pm in Johnson Hall.
