HEAR FROM THE HAWKS COACH:
Head women's basketball coach Matt Svehla on a win in the conference opener:
"Really proud of the girls tonight," Svehla said. "I trusted that we were going to battle and compete, and we talked about being together. They are a close-nit group and our togetherness is always good. We made some stops. I thought we played a good defensive game. Proud of the girls."
Svehla on his team grabbing two double-digit victories this week:
"Sometimes you turn the page and you aren't always sure if the last one carries over to the next, but it's always a confidence builder and it's easier to come to practice after wins," Svehla said. "People stepped up and collectively I thought they did a great job of making the most of their opportunities."
