Ft. Scott Takes Two From The Lakers On Saturday

Iowa Lakes Community College vs Fort Scott Community College – Joe Becker Stadium, Joplin, MO

Joplin, MO – The Iowa Lakes Lakers takes a tough blow from Fort Scott Community College Sunday evening.

 

GAME ONE: (Ft. Scott 9, Lakers 5)

Iowa Lakes Community College fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 9-5 loss to Ft. Scott Community College on Saturday. Ft. Scott Community College scored on a double by Wihihjham, a double by Moreno, a single by Holt, and a single by Jones in the first inning. 

Iowa Lakes Community College opened scoring in the first inning. Caden White singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run. The Lakers put up four runs in the seventh inning. Iowa Lakes Community College's big bats in the inning were led by home runs by Sean Gamble and Ben Bach.

Gorman was credited with the victory for Ft. Scott Community College. Gorman surrendered one run on seven hits over six innings, striking out six and walking zero. Medeiros threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. 

Kellen Cameron took the loss for Lakers. The righthander lasted four and two-thirds innings, allowing 11 hits and nine runs while striking out two and walking one. The Lakers socked two home runs on the day. Bach went yard in the seventh inning. Gamble had a four bagger in the seventh inning.

The Lakers racked up 11 hits in the game. Bach, Gamble, and White each managed multiple hits for Lakers. Bach went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Lakers in hits.

Ft. Scott Community College saw the ball well today, racking up 11 hits in the game. Wilson, Wihihjham, Moreno, and Holt each had multiple hits for Ft. Scott Community College. 

GAME TWO: (Ft. Scott 11, Lakers 1)

It was a tough day on Saturday for the Lakers, who lost 11-1 to Ft. Scott Community College. White led the Ft. Scott Community College to victory on the hill. The pitcher went four innings, allowing one run on four hits, striking out four and walking zero. Neal threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Dayton Robinson took the loss for Lakers. Robinson lasted two innings, allowing four hits and eight runs while striking out one.

Ft. Scott Community College tallied four home runs on the day. Moreno had a dinger in the fifth inning. Messenger went yard in the second inning. Shaggs went deep in the second inning. Clarke had a long ball in the second inning.

Joey Winter led the Lakers with two hits in two at bats. Lakers didn't commit a single error in the field. Ben Bach had three chances in the field, the most on the team.

Clarke went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Ft. Scott Community College in hits. Ft. Scott Community College was sure handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Messenger had the most chances in the field with five.

 

The Lakers head to Kansas for their spring break trip on the 13th to fact off against Hesston College, in Hesston KS.
