The Lakers played a solid defensive game against the #1 ranked team in the nation, and Coach Witzke had this to say about it, "It was good to see our defense come out and play a clean game. That's one area that has been an issue for us since we opened up our conference schedule." Coach Witzke also said" With a lot of young pitchers getting an opportunity against a national contender like Iowa Western, it's easy to see the growth from the start of the season, and it gives us a lot of hope for this season and for the foreseeable future."

The Reivers move to 33-5 overall and 16-0 in ICCAC play. The Lakers fall to 5-28 overall and 1-13 in ICCAC play. The Lakers are back in action Thursday April 11, 2024, as they travel to Madison, South Dakota to take on the Trojans from Dakota State University. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00pm.
