The Iowa Lakes Community College Laker Dance Team traveled to Des Moines on Tuesday November 17 to compete at the 2021 State Dance Team Championship. 

The Lakers were one of seven Iowa Community College Teams in attendance. All seven teams will compete against one another in the Community College Pom Division. 

This year's competition takes place November 17-19. "We are very grateful to have had the opportunity to compete in-person. Many schools will be competing virtually this year due to COVID-19." stated Coach Danie Juhl. All team performances will be recorded and judged virtually later this month. Teams will find out this year's results on Saturday December 5th when the results are streamed live. 

Coach Juhl commented "Our team has faced so many obstacles this season, but they continued to stay focused on our goal and persevered. They were amazing! It was such a great moment watching them perform in Wells Fargo Arena, knowing how hard they have worked for that moment!"
